About the artist

Jan D. Moore is committed to and has a passion for capturing and preserving in oil the very essence of our canine friends and companions, their look of unconditional love, spontaneity and commitment.

At a very early age, Jan developed a passion for painting landscapes and portraits of pets. She painted her first dog portrait at age 6 and comes by her love of animals and art naturally through her parents, both successful artists and business owners and that of her maternal grandmother and great grandmother.

While attending school in London at age 15 and visiting the European countries, she was exposed to exquisite old master paintings which empowered her ambitions to further her interest in paint, line and composition. She studied at the University of Utah and continued in private studies and teaching in northern and southern California.
