Commissioning a portrait of your pet by Jan D. Moore is a unique and wonderful experience. In consultation with me, the artist, you choose a favorite pose and a special setting in which to have your pet painted. You also choose the size of the canvas so that it fits exactly where you would like it to be hanging in your home. I will then do a composition sketch of what the finished painting will be then set out to create a unique work of art especially for you.Personal visits are preferred. I want to meet the animals, feel the texture of their hair, see what color their toenails are, pet them and see them as they really are instead of a two-dimensional figure. It is my utmost desire to capture the animals’ personalities and ‘that look’, the look that says ‘I love you!’ or ‘How about a stroll?’ or ‘Here’s your slipper!’.
While preferring personal visits, clients who do not live locally may choose to have me work from photographs sent through e-mail or secure post. On occasion, travel to the client’s out of area homes may be arranged.
While oil is my first medium, other mediums are certainly available upon request. I look forward to meeting you and creating a wonderful portrait of your pet for you!
